About Me

Info

My name is Fernanda, a Mexican graphic designer and photographer with a passion for creativity, design, and exploration. Throughout my journey, I have discovered my love for graphic design, photography, and the art of collage. Let me share my story with you.

Graphic Design

From a young age, I was captivated by the world of art. Proficient with computers since childhood, I explored the realm of digital creativity. It was during my graduation planning that I offered to create the logo for our class, and this experience revealed my deep affinity for graphic design. The boundless nature of design fascinates me, as it allows me to visually construct an entirely new concept from scratch. Whether it's branding, social media, editorial, packaging, or any other branch, I find joy in every facet of graphic design. Today, I recognize that graphic design permeates every aspect of my life and remains at the core of my creative endeavors. As Saul Bass wisely said, "Design is thinking made visual."

Photography

My adventurous spirit led me to photography. At the age of 13, I started capturing images by borrowing my mother's camera during our trips. When I turned 16, I received my first camera, and since then, it has become my constant companion on all my journeys. What fascinates me most is the ability to witness two individuals capturing the same scene, yet producing distinct and unique photographs. Through photography, I enjoy teaching others and consider my camera as my third eye. There is no greater art or memory than that captured through the lens, whether it be an event, a landscape, a portrait, or any other subject. As Ansel Adams wisely stated, "You don't take a photograph; you make it."

Collage

The desire to create collages had always been within me, but finding the time proved challenging. It all started with magazines; I began collecting discarded ones instead of letting them go to waste. In 2019, collages became therapeutic for me, incorporating motivational phrases. Over time, the focus shifted from textual elements to visually translating fictitious scenarios that emerged from my imagination. The transition to digital collage proved to be both challenging and enjoyable, representing an evolution in my creative process. Now, I have two techniques to piece together scenarios like "puzzles," depicting the ideas that flow from my mind. Revealing what others may not see and showcasing it visually is the essence of my creativity, as beautifully expressed by Brian Vaszily: "See what others don't see. Then show it. That's creativity."

Conclusion

In the realms of graphic design, photography, and collage, I find endless inspiration and satisfaction. These mediums allow me to translate my dreams, ideas, and perspectives into visual forms. I am on a continuous journey of exploration, seeking to push the boundaries of my artistic expression and capture the beauty that surrounds us.
